Strength TogetHER 17 - Session 1

                                                                  20th November 2021.

"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth".

With great enthusiasm and positive mindset and the passion to work with young minds, Lokopakar extends its wings to Jumla.

LOKOPAKAR is an organization dedicated to Youth Development. Lokopakar focuses on the growth of youth by providing skill-sets and freedom to be themselves. It provides a non-judgmental platform where they learn from their experiences.

It is overwhelming and joyful to say that Lokopakar has successfully expanded its operations in every corner of the country, including all the seven provinces of Nepal.

Strength TogetHER provides a safe space to share personal stories and experiences which bring change in attitudes and lives. Girls get to explore and express themselves which helps to unburden themselves and create new meaning.

This new journey of Strength togetHER has expanded its wings to Jumla, in collaboration with the Zonta Club of Kathmandu. Zonta Club is a legally registered NGO that has been working on the advancement of the status of women with the objective to improve the economy, education, health, and issues related to youth and violence against women.

Starting off the session, one of the co-founders of Lokopakar gave a warm greeting and a brief introduction of lokopakar, how it functions and what projects are undergoing thereon.Lokopakar means Lok ko Upakar.

The projects that are being undertaken are-Margadarsan, Udaan, Strength togetHER, Episodes. All the virtual sessions are held under the guidance of experts and experienced under their field of specialization.

Taking the session further, the President of the Zonta club Mrs Seema Golchha gave her introduction stating her years of association with the club and their desire to work with young girls. We went further with the introduction of all the participants who would join us via the virtual world of zoom. All the girls introduced their names, their aim in life and their favourite colour. Among all the responses below are the few responses that added meaning to the session-

All colours are the best because we humans are lucky enough to have a wide range of colours around us which makes the world more beautiful.

My favourite colour is white because all the other colours are made with a mixture of white and makes all other colours more attractive.

My favourite colour is red because it is believed to be a sign of purity.

My favourite colour is blue because it gives me inner peace and relaxation.

The talent and sparks in the eyes of the girls showed their willingness to be the change and make the world a better place to live in. They showed their desire to learn and unlearn various things. The unique quality that everyone possessed was the ability to dream. The girls of Jumla were so inspiring.

Other members of the Zonta club were also present in the session who were equally overwhelmed by the positivity. Towards the end of the session, we captured the lovely memorable by taking a screenshot and swearing to be stronger next time.
